Our award-winning BeyondClassrooms approach enables students to actively connect their learning to the real world and build a portfolio of practical experiences that gives them a competitive edge upon graduation. By extending learning beyond the classroom into industries, sports arenas, performance stages, communities, research labs, and more, we make limitless learning possible. This shapes students into global citizens who are not only successful but also impactful in the world.
Career Experience
We partner with leading global companies, organisations and universities that offer high-value, immersive learning and growth experiences for students.
Through internships, expert talks, site visits, and laboratory experiences, students gain direct exposure to the professional world. These opportunities energise students to explore their interests and career goals. By understanding emerging trends and the evolving skill demands of a changing world, students can make informed choices for their lives beyond school.

Innovation Programme
We want our students to step into the world knowing that with an innovator’s mindset, they have the power to solve complex environmental and societal challenges.
The Innovation Programme helps students explore problems, design solutions, and bring ideas to life. Guided by our Innovation Team, they build skills in systems thinking, design thinking, and problem-solving.
In our high-tech Design Centre, students experiment with 3D printing, robotics, and coding. They also participate in global competitions and innovation challenges to test their ideas on larger stages.
Junior Engineer Academy
Grade 8 and 9 students interested in engineering learn to build practical solutions for real-world problems as part of this two-year programme. Students collaborate with industry and academic mentors from XentiQ, Bosch Singapore, Singapore Polytechnic, and more to design, develop and deploy their solutions.
Elite Competitive Sports
Our competitive athletes receive gold-standard training to push their limits and grow as sportspeople.
Coached by accomplished sports professionals, students in our competitive sports programmes regularly compete in the Athletic Conference of Singapore International Schools (ACSIS) leagues and tournaments, both regionally and internationally, including the prestigious SEA Games. For elite athletes aiming for sports scholarships from the US and Europe, we offer personalised guidance to build strong athletic profiles. Our students also have opportunities to participate in intensive sports holiday camps led by international athletes.
Co-Curricular Activities
With over 140 co-curricular activities to choose from students can pursue their passions without limits.
Led by specialist instructors in arts, science, and technology, as well as adventure, culture, and more, each co-curricular activity (CCA) enables students to develop skills, build confidence, and find platforms to express themselves and showcase their talents. There is a place for every talent, skill and interest.
Vocal and Instrumental Programme (VIP)
Our Vocal and Instrumental Programme (VIP) helps students grow their musical skills beyond the classroom. They can choose from over 30 instruments and enjoy one-on-one lessons with top musicians in Singapore. Each student has a personalised plan and learns at their own pace. They also have chances to perform at recitals and concerts. For those who want music qualifications, our tutors provide full support for formal exams.
Service and Sustainability
Our Service Learning and Sustainability programme empowers students to create real impact in their communities and the environment. They learn to lead with purpose, act responsibly, and drive meaningful change.
At GESS, we believe every student can make a difference. Our Service Learning and Sustainability coordinators help students find meaningful ways to give back, whether through school-led projects or their independent initiatives.
We are proud to be accredited by The Alliance for Sustainable Schools, recognising our strong commitment to teaching students about caring for the environment and the community.
Examples of recent projects include planting mangroves, cleaning beaches, and volunteering with local organisations such as the TOUCH Centre. Through these experiences, students build confidence, empathy, and a sense of purpose.
Clubs and Societies
Our student-led clubs help students grow. With expert support, they turn their passions into real projects and connect with others who share their interests.
We inspire students to become leaders, creators, and changemakers by encouraging them to take initiative. With support from mentors and partners, they turn ideas into action, whether leading a sustainability project, championing a cause, or starting an interest group.
