The GESS Fund Ltd.

The GESS Fund Ltd. Is a charity and company limited by guarantee, registered in Singapore.

The main objects for which the Charity is established are:

  • To support and assist the Board of Governors of the German European School Singapore (“the Association Board”) to encourage and foster the interest and financial support of the past students, parents of students, industry partners and friends of the German European School Singapore (“GESS”) to preserve, improve and develop its standards, services, property and facilities;
  • To promote the cooperation between GESS and schools in Singapore to exchange knowledge and teaching techniques by common student activities and other means of exchange;
  • To provide scholarships to students of GESS in accordance of GESS’s admission and enrolment policies;
  • To invest and deal with the money of the GESS Fund Ltd. in such manner as may be deemed appropriate in furtherance of the advancement education;
  • To act as trustee of trust and funds which may be established for the benefit of GESS;
  • To carry on any exclusively charitable objects relating to advancement of education permitted under Singapore Law.

Governance

The Board’s role is to provide strategic direction and oversight of GESS Fund’s programmes and objectives and to steer the charity towards fulfilling its objectives through good governance. As part of its’ role, the following matters require Board’s approval:

Allocation of monies

Term of Office for the Directors

To enable succession planning and steady renewal in the spirit of sustainability of the Charity, the Directors are appointed for the duration of one (1) year. The Honorary Treasurer will not serve for more than four (4) consecutive years, but can serve in any other role before or after.
