Dutch Mother Tongue Programme

We are the only international school in Singapore to offer an integrated Dutch Mother Language Programme combined with the International Baccalaureate from Preschool to Grade 12.

Our integrated Dutch Mother Tongue Programme will help your child achieve native-level proficiency in Dutch language and literature whilst benefiting from a truly international education. For families that move back to Europe, the programme allows your child to re-join the Dutch school system almost seamlessly. Our Dutch-speaking graduates also have an advantage when applying to a Netherlands university.

Preschool TO Grade 5

Frequency:

4 Dutch lessons per week

Lesson Focus:

Reading, writing, and spoken language skills following the International Baccalaureate curriculum with alignment to the national curriculum of the Netherlands.

Grade 6 to 10

Frequency:

3.5 lessons per week within the regular school day

Lesson Focus:

Dutch language and literature following the International Baccalaureate MYP framework. Social, cultural, historical and political aspects of the Netherlands and Belgium are part of the lesson discussions in alignment with the units and cultural events.

Grade 11 to 12

Frequency:

5 lessons per week within the regular school day

Lesson Focus:

Dutch Language A (Language and Literature) following the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme. Social, cultural, historical and political aspects of the Netherlands and Belgium are part of the lesson discussions in alignment with the units and cultural events.
