A variety of activities are offered on our GESS campus during the school holidays.

GESS Art Camp

What:
The art camp is about being creative whilst having fun. Students use acrylic paint, watercolours, pastels, crayons, pens, pencils, clay and paper mâché to create their own original eye-catching art. Each student is provided with their own sketchbook and all materials are provided.

Badminton Camp

What:
Badminton Introductory Camp

Is your child keen to take up a sport but unsure if he or she is suitable?
In this badminton introductory camp, the children gets exposed to badminton through a fun and engaging manner.
They will participate in games and learn badminton strokes through team games.

Badminton Intensive Training Camp

Suitable for intermediate players who already know some basics.
It will be an intensive training including physical training to help aspiring players improve on their skills and physical over this summer break!

Intermediate players can hone their performance with advanced tactical skills such as positioning, one-on-one play and adaptability in gameplay situations.

Aviator's Club

What:
SENIOR AVIATION & DRONES (10 TO 12 YEARS)
Finally, an Aviation programme that caters to the inquisitive minds of budding aviators from the concepts of flying an aircraft to drones and even the future of air travel. Your child will cover science of flight through a well-developed pioneering STEM – Science Technology Engineering Mathematics methodology.

Participants will begin with turning back the hands of time where the first flight took place - EONs ago, in a land of the great Pterosaurs, Quetzalcoatlus and Raptors and how evolution played a part in the story of the bird we have today. Next participants will learn the risk humans took to achieve flight and what we have accomplished today.

The science of flight, the effect of the medium and the forces that aircraft is in, will be comprehensively covered to in this programme. Participants will learn to build elastic gliders and integrate all the lessons taught in this practical session.

What is an aviation programme without drone flying? Yes, several drone theory/practical lessons have been seamlessly included for our Falcons

All lessons are byte sized for these Falcons and will be experiential in nature - staying true to the STEM methodology. Practical activities will include kite/twirler flying, pressure rocket, parachute throwing, various paper plane folding, magnus glider building, mini-drone flying – These are just some of the items used in the aviation kit provided for the participants to bring back.

To value add to the lessons, technology will play a large part in this programme’s mode of instruction. Participants will experience ‘flying’ in a Flight and Drone Simulator, challenge themselves to online quizzes, strengthen their learnt concepts through educational aviation videos to name a few

JUNIOR AVIATION & DRONES (6 TO 8 YEARS)

A top-of-the-line aviation and drone program to inspire the aviators of the future. Your child will cover science of flight through a well-developed pioneering STEM – Science Technology Engineering Mathematics methodology.

Lesson content will cover the timeline of flight from its EONs beginnings to its early pioneers. Next participants will cover the concepts behind flight – the forces that act on it and its various maneuvers. The participants shall also learn the about the future of aircraft design. Lastly, participants will take to the air with several drone practical flying lessons.

The origins of flights through myths and folklore will intrigue our Eaglets too.

All lessons are byte sized for these budding aviators and will be experiential in nature - staying true to the STEM methodology. Practical activities will include kite/twirler flying, pressure rocket, parachute throwing, various paper plane folding, magnus glider building, mini-drone flying – These are just some of the items used in the aviation kit provided for the participants to bring back.

To value add to the lessons, technology will play a large part in this programme’s mode of instruction. Participants will experience ‘flying’ in a Flight and Drone Simulator, challenge themselves to online quizzes, strengthen their learnt concepts through educational aviation videos to name a few.

All in all, this one-of-a-kind aviation programme can satisfy all the questions that these inquisitive ‘Eaglets’ had pepped up inside.

Comic Book Making Club

What:
In this club, we will learn how to make our very own graphic novel. We will create unforgettable characters and learn how to add different emotions to the characters through drawing. We will also learn the strategies of book mapping, thumbnailing and scripting used in the making of graphic novels.

Students are provided with all materials. Please bring snacks, and a water bottle and get ready to unleash your creativity!

What: Introduce your child to a wide range of activities to further develop their confidence, social-emotional skills and creativity in a fun and engaging way. The children will experience hands-on activities with arts & crafts, science experiments, games, cookery and music. The preschool camp is where your children create wonderful memories. We look forward to having a great time with all the children.

Teachers: Our very own GESS teachers and teacher assistants. Our teachers will lead the children in fun activities and supervised free play time, throughout the programme.
