Our Approach

University and Career Counselling at GESS follows a student-centred and globally informed approach, with strong emphasis on best-fit outcomes rather than prestige alone.

Our counsellors support students across a wide range of higher education systems, including Europe, the UK, North America, and the Asia-Pacific region. Ethical practice, transparency, and equitable access are central to our work, ensuring students receive accurate, up-to-date information and clear guidance at every stage

Personalised Guidance and Expertise

GESS’ dedicated University and Career Counsellors work closely with students and parents throughout the upper secondary years.

Families can expect:

  • Individual counselling meetings tailored to each student
  • Structured, grade-appropriate guidance
  • Ongoing support through applications, decisions, and transitions

How We Support Students

Our University and Career Counselling team supports students by helping to:

  • Identify best-fit universities and post-school pathways
  • Build strong academic and co-curricular profiles
  • Understand global application processes, timelines, and requirements
  • Prepare for university applications and alternative options
  • Make confident, well-informed decisions about the future

Students are encouraged to take increasing ownership of the process, supported by experienced and attentive guidance.

Lion City Fair

Hosted annually on the GESS campus, the Lion City College Tour brings together over 100 colleges and universities from around the world.

  • Open to Grade 9–12 students
  • Direct interaction with university representatives
  • Opportunity to explore programmes and compare pathways in one setting
