Newton MRT Station - Singapore (NS21 / DT11)

Newton MRT Station (NS21/DT11) links the North South Line (NSL) and Downtown Line (DTL) in an underground interchange. Situated where Scotts Road and Bukit Timah Road meet, close to Newton Circus, this station provides access to the Newton area, encompassing offices, residences, schools, religious institutions, and the bustling Newton Food Centre nearby.

Functioning as a traditional interchange, the station accommodates both lines on separate platforms and concourse levels due to their distinct construction periods. The DTL platform, located at Basement 3, passes beneath the older NSL tunnel situated at Basement 2.

However, due to construction constraints, the connection between these lines remains informal. Commuters transferring between the lines need to exit the system, traverse a 56m public linkway, and then re-enter the network within a 15-minute transfer window.
