Overview

Definition of Educational and Career Guidance
Domains of ECG
  1. Self Awareness (SA): the awareness of personal characteristics (abilities, aptitudes, skills, values, and interests) and evaluation of these characteristics in terms of employability.
  2. Opportunity Awareness (OA): the awareness of educational and career opportunities.
  3. Decision Learning (DL): the development and application of decision-making skills to make informed decisions on education and career choices.
  4. Transition Learning (TL): the development and application of work values and personal qualities, employability skills and knowledge, to transit successfully through the different levels of education and career.

OUR GOAL FOR ECG@GESS

OBJECTIVES OF ECG@GESS:

  1. Create opportunities for students to be aware of their personal characteristics and understand their relevance to employability. (ST2)
  2. Provide information to students on educational and career opportunities. (ST1, ST2)
  3. Develop students with decision-making skills to make informed decisions on education and career choices. (ST1, ST2)
  4. Equip students with work values and personal qualities, employability skills and knowledge, so that they can transit successfully through the different levels of education and career. (ST1, ST2)

Responsible Decision Making
  1. Are able to reflect on and evaluate their current reality, make relevant career choices, and plan for their career
  2. Are able to make responsible decisions regarding utilising available resources to help them achieve academic goals
