Fitness and Conditioning
Physical conditioning enables students to have a balanced healthy mind and body, and also to prepare male students for National Service. Training encompasses improving cardiovascular endurance, upper and lower body strength.
Physiology and Nutrition
Theoretical lessons on Physiology and nutrition to educate students on eating wisely and maintaining health and body wellness.
Games’ concepts and techniques
Teaching Games for Understanding (TGFU) and Games Concept Approach (GCA) are used in lessons to impart games skills and knowledge. The 3 genres of games played in GESS are:

Track & Field
Knowledge in biomechanics efficiency to improve running, jumping and throwing are taught and practiced in the school field.

Swimming Programme
Water proficiency is a survival skill that all students should be equipped with. Swimming modules are carried out weekly in Delta Swimming Pool for year 1 students. Students learn basic swimming skills like:
- Treading water
- Front crawl
- Breaststroke
- Backstroke
They also attained one of the following awards:
- Bronze award in swimming proficiency
- Silver award in swimming proficiency
- Gold award in swimming proficiency
Gymnastics and Dance
Flexibility, movement coordination and fine motor skills can be refined through practice in dance and gymnastics. Gessians are taught the fundamental body movements:
- Balance and coordination
- Folk Dance
- Hip Hop
