Hold your heads high, boys!

GESS Team (red) vs Presbyterian High.

Congratulations to our boys for their fighting spirits in the Finals of the National 'B' Div Basketball Tournament held at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall on 17 July 2003.

Apparently our opponents were relatively at an advantage in terms of height and built, but that did not deter our boys from putting up a tough fight, and went on to prove that size does not matter, all the time.

Our team is runners-up this time; but the Gessian supporters were all elated when one of our boys was named Best (male) Player of the Tournament.

Onward Gessians!!... keep up your fighting spirits and we will be back to support you next year!

" It is really heartening to see our GESSIANs although slightly small in built and height put up a gallant fight. Please convey to GESSIANs that being a GESSIAN is to possess the fighting spirit to overcome all odds. If they have that fighting spirit and most important the GESSIAN spirit more good things will come Gessian way. "

- Mr. Goh Choon Leng, who was at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall to support the GESS Team

Remembering Mr Pala

Mr PalaMore than 300 people turned up at the Mount Vernon Crematorium to pay their last respects to Mr Pala last Sunday (29-Jun).

OSA representatives were there, together with a band bugler, a current GESS student, who played a tune to pay our last respects.

In memory of Mr Pala, a special column of our website will be dedicated to past GESSians whom we came to know them through our interactions and are still fondly remembered by all of us in this community. With much sadness, this online memorial begins with Mr Pala...
