51st Annual General Meeting of GESS Old Students' Association (GESSOSA)
Fellow Gessians,
The 51st Annual General Meeting of GESS Old Students' Association (GESSOSA) will be held on Sat 30 May 2009 from 2pm - 5pm in the school AVA Room.
The meeting agenda and minutes of the 50th AGM is attached.
We have two important items in this year's agenda namely (1)Set up GESS 125th Anniversary Committe and (2)Implement plan to attain autonomous
school by 2015. We will be needing lots of ideas, support and resources to realise these objectives and therefore, I seek your strong support to rally
your respective cohorts to come forward to serve your alma mater. Attending the AGM is the first step to get us all on the same page.
More than 120 years ago, our Founder established a free school for boys who were poor. Generations of Gessians have benefited from his philantrophy and it is time for us to return to serve our alma mater.
"That as many hands build a house, So many hearts make a school". Onward Gessians !

GESSOSA 50th Anniversary Dinner 22nd August 2008
On 22nd August 2008, Gan Eng Seng School's Old Students' Association [GESSOSA], held the above function in GESS school hall. The dinner was to commemorate its 50th anniversary and to have a get together of Senior Gessians as well as to sign up new members for the association. School staff also helped to provide support. Mr Abraham Joseph, one of the school's Senior Teachers, coordinated this event between GESSOSA and the school where the school's cultural groups performed during the event. The principal, Mr Victor Giam, also took the opportunity to update GESSOSA of the school's recent achievements and its aspiration to obtain autonomous status.
The event was well attended with over twenty tables. Among the special guests was Professor Kiang Ai Kim who started the association in 1958. Hence Professor Kiang’s presence was all the more significant. In many ways the dinner was also a tribute to his contributions.
This event has greatly strengthened our school's partnership with GESSOSA.
