Our school has been awarded the Sustained Achievement Award (Uniform Group) for 2nd consecutive years since 2000.
Gan Eng Seng School won the CHERISH (Championing Efforts Resulting in Improved School Health) Award 2002 - Bronze.
Two of the WITS team, Eureka and I-Team represented the school in the convention. The Eureka Team's (Science Department) project on Laboratory Organization and Layout won a Bronze Award. The I-Team's (IT Department) project on Testimonials won a Silver Award.
The Eureka Team members are Mr Lim Choon Beng (Facilitator), Ms Goh Yuh Mein (Leader), Mdm Sapura, Ms Ong Siew Khim, Mrs Tan Wai Ping, Ms Mah Lai Heng, Mr Ang Wee Kiat.
The I-Team members are Mrs Ko Li Ling (Facilitator), Mr Beh Chuon Wee (Leader), Mr Ang Ghim Chee, Ms Malar, Mr Lee Seng Yong.
One of our students, Tay Chong Boon, Eddie (Sec One) has been selected for the Student Achievement Award by the CDAC Student Achievement Award Selection Committee. He has won for himself a Certificate of Achievement, Cash Voucher and other prizes. He also attended a 4-day training course to develop students' confidence at the SPARK @ Marine Parade sponsored by CDAC.

Benjamin Khan (Class of 2003) won Gold Award for his Art Project, Inside Out.
William Yeow (Class of 2003) won Silver Award for his Art Project, Nocturne City.
Lok Yeen Sin (Class of 2003) won Bronze Award for her Art Project, Out From the Debris.
Our school has been awarded the Sustained Achievement Award (Uniform Group) for 4th consecutive years since 2000.
Our pupils have done the school proud in the competitions.
Competition was tough since they had to compete with schools like RI ,Cedar and Tanjong Katong Girls.
Our pupils have done the school proud in the SMO 2004 held on 3 & 4 June 2004. The Junior Section obtained 4 Silver, 4 Bronze and 2 Honourable Mention Awards while the Senior Section achieved 3 Silver, 7 Bronze and 7 Honourable Mention Awards.

Our team of students from class 3F: Themis Thng, Jerel Tan and Jeremy Tan came in 2nd in the stock challenge.

The team of 4 students, Naveen Kumar (2F), Sim Zhi Long (2G), Hairul Hakim (2G) & Thng Kai Yuan (2G) obtained Outstanding Project certificates for their project - Effectiveness of Different Brand of Toothpastes. They were one of the five teams to showcase their project at the Civil Service College on 28 July during the closing symposium.

Ang Yukai of Sec 1F won the consolation prize in the contest. Spin Your Fairy Tale Contest 2005! is organised by Singapore Philatelic Museum and supported by Singapore Post Limited and the Ministry of Education. The contest was held in conjunction with the 200th anniversary celebration of Hans Christian Andersen.

On 17 October, 20 GESSIANS acted as SPH Wildlife Buddies for the visually handicapped and took them on a tour to the exhibits with Braille interpretives in Singapore Zoo. |
On the 22nd of Sep(Friday), 20 sec 3 Gessians participated in the Maths Canival organised by and held at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. One of the items in the programme was taking an on line E Maths proficiency test, in which the participants were banded from a scale of 1 to 9. On this day, there were about 150 students from 8 schools who participated in the E Maths category.
Our school student Cheong Wen Rong(3F) won the 2nd prize of a 256MB thumbdrive and a $50 Times Bookshop voucher.

Well done GESSIANS!
Our Aroozoo Librarians have done our school proud! Our students, using their creativity, put up two models in the library - one a patient suffering from lung disease due to smoking and another model, a nurse, together with a range of anti-drug books - to take part in the Decorate A Drug-Free Corner Competition organised by CNB. They won the Outstanding Prize award and $100 book voucher.
The team members are: Ang Nee Way Jaysline (3D), Ding Zheng Yee (3D), Heng Pei Lin (3D) and Cheang Kek Bing (4B).
Our school has been awarded Merit Award in the programme organised by the Central Singapore Community Development Council.
A team of Sec 2 students participated in the Scientific Thinking Programme organised by Republic Polytechnic on 21 July. Over twenty schools participated in the event and the team was one of the four teams that was awarded outstanding project.The team was selected to present their project to the VIPs in the prize presentation cum closing ceremony of the event. Each student won $50 borders vouchers and a certificate of excellence.

All 5 of GESS entries submitted have won awards in SYF Art Central Judging. We won 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze Awards.

On 18 July 2006, a team of sec 3 students participated in the Great Anatomy Challenge, part of the SuperScience Olympiad, organised by Ngee Ann Polytechnic. They won the Merit Prize and $40 vouchers.

Senior Gessian, Ching Siqi Saraphina, Class of 2002, was part of a 5-member team who participated in the Crowbar Awards 2007. Their film, Snip Snip, won a Bronze Award in the Short Film category
Launched in 2001, by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Singapore, the Crowbar Awards highlight the best emerging talent in creative communications and design. It is an annual platform for emerging young creatives to showcase their works and learn from their peers.
Saraphina graduated with a Diploma in Film, Sound & Video from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 2006.

Since January, 2 teams comprising of 8 secondary 2 students from 2F and 2G participated in the Republic Polytechnic Scientific Thinking Programme. After 6 months of intensive research work, report writing, and presentations, both teams surpassed many other teams from various secondary schools to clinch 2 “Outstanding Project Awards”. The team from 2F comprises of Fong Zhi Hui, Juaniter Ng, Lee Shu Yi and Shaun Tan. ONWARDS GESSIANS! |

On 16 May 2008, the 2NT and 2EXP pupils took part in the GESS Straw Car Race, in which they got to race the straw cars they had built as part of their Project Work lessons.
