8th Singapore Dragon Boat Association Invitational (SDBA) Championships 2003

Our school participated in the SDBA Canoeing Championships on 22nd and 23rd March 2003. Despite the stiff competition, our students performed very well and managed to clinch quite a few titles.

Result:
Under 17 Men T2-500M - 3rd
Under 17 Women T2- 500M - 3rd
Under 17 Women K2-250M - 1st and 3rd
Overall Championship Under 17 Women Team - 2nd

National Rowing Competition

Two teams of GESS Canoeists (plus 2 other GESSIANS from the Uniformed groups) have taken part in the competition held on 5 Sep 04. They have emerged first and second in the inter-schools division.

National Canoeing Championship 2004

Our canoeists have done us proud again.
Our K4 team of Gracia Quek (4E), Miho Iwaki (4F), Xie Jingxiu (4H) & Soh Chai Kee (4I) have won silver in the event (K4 1000 metres). This performance is really good considering they were rowing against 'A' girls, NUS, NTU, and teams from different societies/associations.

Singapore Canoeing Federation Championships

Our B Girls won Gold in two events U-19 K4 1000, & U-19 K4 400m held on the 27th March 2004 at the MacRitchie Reservoir. There were no overall team awards for the competition but we came up tops in the Women's teams among the Secondary Schools.

Singapore Dragon Boat Association Invitational Canoeing Competition 2004

Our Canoeing Sprint Team 'B' Girls won the Inter School Division U-17 (Women) held on 12-14 March 2004.

'Ergo Craze' National Rowing Competition

The Canoeing team won the 'Ergo Craze' National Rowing Competition (Mixed Relay Team) in the Secondary Schools Category on sunday (22 Feb '04).

The Gan Eng Seng Canoe Sprint Team participated in the National Canoeing Championship 2006. We have won 3 silvers and 2 bronzes in the competition.

The National Inter-School Canoeing Championships 2007 was held at Bedok Reservoir on 10, 11 and 12 July. After three days of tough competition, our B'Division Girls emerged as overall 1st Runner Up. Individual events: 500 metres k1 - 1st Runner-up. Kwan Yuan Zhen (3H) 500 metres k2 - 1st Runner-up. Sai Feng Jia (3G) & Lee Ying Ying (3I) 1000 metres k2 - Championship. Tan Wan Lin (3I) & Marliana (4H) Well Done, Gessians!
